Produced in Dipilto, Nueva Segovia, by Donald Efrain Roque López, Finca San Ramon is settled on the Cordillera of Dipilto, a Natural Reserve located close to the border with Honduras. Donald Efrain Roque is the third generation of coffee producers in the Roque Family. Both, his grandfather and father were dedicated to coffee, and he decided to continue with this beautiful legacy. 
For his entire life, he has been surrounded by coffee and acquired a very special passion for the product. In the year 2006, when Donald Efrain learned about Cup of Excellence in Nicaragua, he decided to participate in the contest to see how much potential his coffee had and to search for a recognition for his hard work. After having a great performance, he was motivated to continue improving the quality of his coffee. At this point, Donald was sure he wanted to continue being a specialty coffee producer and went on to participate twice more in this prestigious contest in 2009 and 2011, where he achieved great results. 
For him, the biggest change from being a conventional farmer to a specialty coffee farmer, was having to train and educate his workers on changing their harvesting and processing practices. Now he is consistently seeking for improvement opportunities and always projecting to be a better farmer in the future. 
He strongly believes in the potential of specialty coffee in Dipilto, Nueva Segovia and he recommends every single farmer in the region to focus solely on producing specialty coffee.
